On January 23, 2023, the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners voted 3 to 2 to approve the construction of an RV park on the corner of Sadler Road and Ryan Road.

There had been a single family residence on the 1.4 acre plot until recently. The property currently has over 45 trees, 21 of which will be removed to make way for this park.

One by one, we are losing acres of tree canopy and the benefits to our local climate.

Trees and vegetation lower surface and air temperatures by providing shade and through evapotranspiration. Shaded surfaces, for example, may be 20–45°F (11–25°C) cooler than the peak temperatures of unshaded materials.Evapotranspiration, alone or in combination with shading, can help reduce peak summer temperatures by 2–9°F (1–5°C).
