GET INVOLVED
TODAY!

Don't wait. Every year trees are lost to development and our environment becomes ever-more precarious.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

SUPPORT ATC

Through both advocacy and action, ATC has helped to improve the health of our tree canopy and preserve the beauty for which Amelia Island is renowned. Your support will help us continue this work.

ATC works with both the City and County to protect our island’s maritime canopy and we are grateful for your involvement in these efforts.

Plant Native Trees

Planting native trees, particularly shade trees, is critical for reaping the many benefits our trees provide us, such as moderating temperature, maximizing protection from wind, preventing erosion and managing storm water.

Read Tree Protection Regulations

The City of Fernandina Beach and Nassau County both have Ordinances that cover tree removals and maintenance.

Use Accredited Tree Services

Request the credentials of any tree service that wants to trim or remove your trees.

Question the Necessity of Removing Trees

Question insurance companies that demand tree removal or major trimming.

There may be alternatives.

Land Conservation for Homeowners

Consider conserving property by working with North Florida Land Trust , our accredited and experienced land trust in Northeast Florida. There are several common land conservation options available to a property owner.

SPEAK UP.

If you see something that may be a violation of the tree ordinance, trees that are threatened by development, cut down or damaged by trucks, or you notice vines that are threatening to overgrow trees, speak up!

These are the email addresses of the people you can contact. They are usually very quick to respond.
