How to get there: Enter the cemetery on Bosque Bello Street, off N 14th St, turn left on Magnolia Street, then next left.

At the celebration Mayor Bradley Bean will speak, the proclamation declaring April 26, 2024 National Arbor Day will be read (see it in full below), and light refreshments will be provided.

The project involved cutting down 5 trees and grinding their stumps, grinding an additional 4 stumps, and planting 20 new trees. The new trees were chosen carefully - 6 Shumard Oaks, 4 Southern Magnolia, and 10 Live Oaks. Funding was provided by a grant from Wendelle Burdick/Larsen Fund and from the City of Fernandina Beach Tree Fund.

The 5 old trees had once stood tall, but were now damaged, were cut down, stumps were ground and the 20 new trees were planted.
